Coffee & Cake = Coffee Break

I just posted a food entry and here I am again beginning to write something under the same label...
I apologize for that, but I will not regret this.

Anyway, Coffee Break deserves a slot here!

The Coffee Break Cup... I love it!

Here are the reasons why I will go back to this place.

  • The Crew - Professional! That's it.
  • The Ambiance - a relaxing place @ the heart of Cyberzone Cubao
  • The price - reasonable
  • Variety - 5 star!
Conclusion: It's lifeylicious...

To give you an idea, check this out!

Hot coffee-based drinks (up to 8 choices) - Php 50 to 75;
Tea (more than 10 choices) -Php 60 to 80;

Take a peek at my boyfie's order.

Mocha (Coffee-Based) and Better than Sex!

Here are what he ordered for me.

Cappuccino and Devil's Fantasy!

Since it's snap-all-you-can here, I got this one too!

The coffee machine!

Coffee isn't really bad if you are not dependent on or addicted to it. Just like what they say when it comes to alcohol, DRINK MODERATELY!

Smitten by Chicken?

Having skipped two important meals, I played a little girl asking for candies to my boyfie when I asked him "where are else can we eat?" Though we earlier agreed to dine in my boyfie's favorite fast food, I was contemplating about trying something unfamiliar. To my delight, a brilliant idea came from my boyfie. He suggested a nearly forgotten place somewhere in Shopwise, Cubao.

Two or three weeks ago, my boyfie and I were intrigued to find a seemingly isolated restaurant in Shopwise, Araneta Center, Cubao. When we checked the menu placed before the entrance, we realized that it serves Singaporean cuisine. Since the price range is pocket friendly, we decided to include it in our to-visit list. That time, book hunting was our priority, so memory of that restaurant was buried in my quite crowded and disorganized long-term memory.

For passers-by eyes...
Though it's several steps away from the free parking space and my pets inside my tummy were waging war against me, I date-walked with partner. Upon entry, I took my weapon out. I looked around as if I was an investigator. The color theme is the familiar red common in fast food. The tables and chairs are common too. The place is clean and in a holiday mood because of the christmas decoration. Lifeylicious, my blog, was already in my mind.

Look at the little girl. Cutie!
Since we're newbies, we entertained the suggestions of the jolly crew. We ordered white chicken and chicken curry. As we waited, customers started to multiply. The newly-arrived patrons gave the place a homey feeling. Soon, bowls of hot soup were served. That was nice, I thought. Few minutes more, the meal was served. Here, have a glimpse!
A SCR Bestseller!
I am far from being an epicurean and the description I know is just delicious, but I am sure that a food expert has something nice to say about the taste of chicken. To give justice to the food that pacified my barbaric pets, I'll say that I oh so love the White Chicken Rice. The chicken is so juicy. The taste was just from chicken. It seemed like there was no flavoring. The dip combo made me appreciate it more. The side dish was exquisite too. The presentation was pleasing enough.

My boyfie, however, refused to five a five-star rating because he was expecting a Filipino-style chicken curry. When I tasted its sauce, I was pretty sure that I love it. I even joked if it's possible to take out the leftover sauce. For me, sauce pa lang, ulam na!

Curry na Curry!
And here is our finale. It may be quite costly considering the price range of the meals, but if you think of cafe-served cold drinks, then you just saved half the price. I just wanna share that I didn't stop until the bottom was clear. (Talap!)
Truly, chocolatey!
I think you know how I will close this entry and you're right! Dinner @ Singapore Chicken Rice is lifeylicious!

You need not see my face to know how I feel...

Life Defined

Before the end of this month, I think it's just proper for me to give you an idea of how my life is these days. I've been saying lifeylicious in almost (if not all, I am not sure) all of my entries and that perhaps make you think that I am livin la vida loca. ( Di naman po araw-araw! hehe)

Now that the world is in the brink of another war, people go gaga over multi-million 6/55 lotto jackpot, environmentalists left and right scream "wake up before it's to late, the Pope made a controversial statement about condom, ABS has filed a suit against Willie, more and more blood donors are found to be infected by HIV, earthquake has been taking place in different parts of the world, sink hole news seems no longer strange, Twitter declines Google offer, Ampatuan incident is a year old, plagiarism has reached even the supposed-epitome of integrity in the land, Filipinos express mixed feelings about Christmas holiday and more, I still keep on saying 'lifeylicious'!

Thu, 11/25/10, 11:30 A.M.

Actually, lifeylicious has become my mantra. It helps me ignore the things which I cannot control. With all that is happening, sanity is a reliable weapon, an armor. I trust HIM. He will take care of the things I can't. I just have to do my part. He has shown me my purpose and it is where I should focus.

Because of this attitude, I have become conscious of many lifeylicious things around. I will not enumerate them here because I plan to share them to you one at a time. It's like eating your favorite food (like ice cream and cake), it won't be healthy if it is beyond your limit. It will just make you sick.

Thu, 11/25/10, 7 P.M.

Right now, just like before I am learning. Learning is fun. Learning about life and living life can be both fun. Life is fun. It may be challenging at times, but it is still FUN! It's lifeylicious.

Batibot is Back!

The New Batibot!

Pagmulat ng mata,
Langit nakatawa
Sa batibot,
Sa batibot
Tayo nang magpunta
Tuklasin sa batibot
Ang tuwa, ang saya

Doon sa batibot
Tayo na, tayo na
Mga bata sa batibot
Maliksi, masigla. (2x)

If you are a batang batibot, you surely miss the song, right? Anyway, how well do you remember Batibot? Here are some random terms that will help you go back to your childhood...
  • Pong Pagong (Siyempre naman!)
  • Kiko Matsing (with matching hoarse voice)
  • Manang Bola (Perlas na bilog, wag tutulog-tulog... Sabihin sa'kin ang sagot... Ba, Be-Bi, Bo-Bu...)
  • Ging-Ging (Ang kuleett!)
  • Irma Daldal (Ang daldal!)
  • Kapitan Bassaaaa!
  • Ate Sienna at Kuya Bodjie
  • Sitsiritsit and Alibangbang (Read it again in a robotic way!)
Let's sing again...
Alin? Alin?
Alin ang naiba?
Isipin kung alin ang naiba?
Isiping mabuti Isipin kung alin
Isipin kung alin ang naiba?

Alin? Alin?
Alin ang naiba?
Isipin kung alin ang naiba?
Sabihin, sabihin
Sabihin kung alin
Sabihin kung alin ang naiba?

Why am I writing about Batibot? It's because they're back! Not all of them though because as you may all know Pong Pagong and Kiko Matsing are owned by the Sesame. I am not sure if you were aware that GMA did revive it. However, since it had to pay much for Pong and Kiko, it replaced the two muppets with Koko Kwik Kwak. Then, they disappeared again. I think that was year 2000.

Just this week I saw Batibot again in the news... It made me smile.
I just wonder if it will be back for good. Will kids-of-today be able to appreciate a show which baby-sit us? Values education will surely be very challenging. How good is this new Batibot visual-wise? Can it compete with the computer games, with FB applications?

The above questions will be answered in the coming days. I just wish TV5 good luck in this one because it has chosen something for kids. If we can't stop kids from watching TV, at least, we can provide them with something educational.
Ang saya-saya... makulay!

Actually, I don't really feel like writing now. I wanna sing. Let's just sing again!

Ako ay kapitbahay
Kapitbahay n'yo
Laging handang tumulong sa inyo.

Kilala n'yo ako
Kilala n'yo ako
Ako'y isa sa kapitbahay
Kapitbahay ninyo!

Ako ay kapitbahay
Laging handang
Laging handang
Tumulong sa inyo

Kilala n'yo ako
Kilala n'yo ako
Ako'y isa sa kapitbahay
Kapitbahay ninyo!

Amazed with Amazing!

Since I had a very busy week in school, it's great to mark it with something AMAZINGLY lifeylicious!

#11 Doña Hemady Street
New Manila, Quezon City
Phone: (632) 4165299 / 7241402
Fax: (632) 7227904
Website: http://www.amazingcones.com

After my last class today, I found my non-smoker boyfie waiting for me in the smoking area. (Paktay! Kawawa naman ang baga n'ya.) As soon as I finished all my business, we fled and found ourselves in a cozy place. As we parked, I was already excited to get inside. I thought we're about to eat crêpe. When I realized we weren't, I got even more excited.

Since the ambiance there is great, I couldn't help but drool over what my eyes saw in the pictures and video. Though I didn't talk much because of headache, I was celebrating inside! I made myself at home by having some snaps here and there. (
Keber ko kung para akong turista!)

Cool colors... I oh so love the feeling.

I love its interior... of course, especially the color. It reminded of my blog which is barely a month old. (hehe! Just a matter of fact.)

Boyfie thinking if I will order or just keep on snapping

So what does Amazing Cone offer? It's their mouthwatering pizza in a cone! I have seen pizza in different sizes and shapes, but theirs was my first! Their oven is unique too. Not only that, I enjoyed different flavors for a reasonable price. (Pero di po ako ang nagbayad! Thanks Boyfie!) My favorite is BBQ Chix! And one thing I should not forget to write here is that the HOT SAUCE IS EXCELLENT! (pramis!)

Sa tingin n'yo, masarap?

They also serve what they call Amazing Ice. It caught my attention because the choices are halo-halo, mais con yelo, (sosyal na carinderia, ahehe..), buco pandan and lychee. I loved it because it's not too sweet. (Kainaman ga!)

Pang-second round na po 'to!

I was also tempted to order soft-serve ice cream called Amazing Swirl, but I decided to just save it for my next visit. (Hihirit pa ulit!)

Aside from cleanliness of the place, I also give credit to the crew who are polite and friendly, very accommodating. They didn't keep us waiting. Even if we had to wait, I think we wouldn't bother because we enjoyed the music of APO there. (Masarap sabayan, lumang tugtugin...)

Amazing Cone... Kudos for originality and taste! (Masarap balikan!)

Professional or Not?

What I found in my notebook!

I just found in my notebook a note about the lecture of Atty. Bautista. I really appreciate it that it prompted me to write my personal assessment so that it will leave a longer impression to my mind cluttered with tidbits of law provisions, cases and things-to-do which includes writing blog entries. By the way, lem'me add that writing here makes me feel better. So to those who are quite surprised why I post entries more frequently than others, I just mentioned my reason.

To go back, Atty. Bautista, assistant city prosecutor of Quezon City, made me appreciate the facts behind the
David vs. Arroyo case. I have read the SCRA version once and digest version several times, yet I was still bedazzled as my unassuming professor narrated the story. More probably because I captured the lifeylicious angle of this highly sensational political case.

What am I talking about? It is the fact that there are still, if not many, professionals in the government. What I mean by professionals here, are those people who are guided my laws and principles, not the ones who blindly follow the commands of the influential people.

Taken during the class of Atty. Bautista
(Model: Don Ballesteros)
Do not forget that a professional is a law-abiding citizen!

PROFESSIONALISM is the bottomline of this entry. Can you imagine how more lifeylicious our lives will be if we will practice it everyday. If giving more than what is required is a burden, giving what is required, or in other words, what is due, can be our fair share as citizens of our country.

If your work is unfinished and you can afford to tweet and open your FB account, can you call yourself a professional?
If you pilfer, and luckily not caught by anyone, are you a professional?

If you are a driver and you follow traffic rules as well as take care and respect your passengers, can you be considered a professional though you have not finished high school?

If you work in government and you let private individuals wait until their eyeballs turn white because they are the ones who need your service, are you a professional?

If you ignore the queue because you are in a hurry, are you a professional?

If you smile while serving the customers attentively, are you a professional?

This list of questions answerable by yes or no can go on and on... but don't lose sight of the things of real importance! We can be a professional in one instance and not in others. Since we are now aware of this, we have to constantly remind ourselves that if we want a lifeylicious life, we have to be responsible. As they say, there is no such thing as free lunch!

Again, being a professional is one way of doing others, our country and ourselves a favor!

Chasing Harry

Harry with Hermione and Ron chasing Doinks?

My boyfie and I are supposed to be in Baguio by now. However, since not even Harry Potter could be at two (2) places at the same, I am still in Metro Manila. I am just thankful that I have a very understanding friend, Mhy!

Actually, I was in Baguio for two (2) consecutive years already. If I could make it this year, it will be my third… I still have more than one (1) month. Will I be able to visit it this year? Fate will decide.

As a student, my priority is my studies; hence, I attended and concentrated on my classes from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Thank you, Atty. Atienza for dismissing the class early today!)

Knowing that I did my best this week, I honestly believe that I deserve a … break? Nope. Not just that, but a TREAT! It’s Harry Potter’s Day! Yey! Harry Potter + DQ Rocky Road Blizzard… lifeylicious!

Actually, I am not really a super fan (super fan?) of the eyeglasses-wearing guy Potter. I only read the series when I heard that the final installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was already out. I bought 1 to 6 in paperback and borrowed the last one because it was kind’a expensive. (Thanks, Jaymark!) I finished them like I just scanned the pages. Yeah, that fast! Can you imagine reading them all like you’ve never stopped? That was my case. After reading them, it was the only time I started watching the Potter movies. Because I was still under the spell of the book, I didn’t enjoy them much. I even criticized some scenes for not being able to give justice to the book. Nevertheless, I have been thankful that I was able to compare things I have imagined to those in the movies, including the characters of course.

When I heard that the first part of the series will be shown this year, I promised myself that I will not miss it! My boyfie just granted my wish! Yipee!

Two (2) Tickets for Php 170 each.

Though I didn’t have same satisfaction I got after watching Inception, I must say that I am satisfied. The texture of the movie is great. It was not too dark compared to the previous one though Lord Valdemort was shown in some scenes. His appearances were numerous enough to create the feeling of anticipation. I also love Ron in this movie because he made me laugh and giggle. Hermione did great too. Though her appearances were remarkable, it was not overpowering to make me forget that this movie is still about Potter, Potter and his FRIENDS! It’s a story of friendship. My favorite scenes? Well, though Hermione and Harry’s intimate kissing scene before the eyes of Ron is an attention-getter, but it’s not what is in my no. 1. I love those scenes with Dobby, the Free Elf.

Here are some of the unforgettable scenes:

*Farewell-Dobby scene was oh so touching. It moved me to the point that I almost cry.

*Hermione and Harry dancing – It tempted me to think a what-if. The chemistry was undeniable. No wonder why Ron acted weird. Hahaha!

*Scenes with Luna – I love her character. A different flavor, I must say.

*Ron’s worst fear – This could be one of the most unforgettable, especially to those fans of Hermione. Yeah! She is not just a girl anymore.

*Hermione and Harry’s encounter with Nagini, the Snake

Since it has been quite some time since I read the books, I was left Identifying who’s who all throughout. The good thing was the characters themselves helped me out. Recalling was incidental, not a challenge.

If you have watched the previous Potter movies, don’t miss this one. You can see here how the characters matured, just like you and I.

Whew!

Another lifeylicious day indeed!

Why is it so? Because my boyfie didn’t bite the bait. If he had done otherwise, I am not sure if I could still say 'luvyah' to him tonight.

After dinner at the food court of Alimall, I decided to just spend my time reading there instead of going along with my boyfie at the hypermarket. I was almost done with one chapter when he arrived and told me about what luck brought him. He said he just won two (2) very expensive items downstairs. (Wehh! Di nga?)

This one could have been mine! Hahaha...

Wow! A high tech stove!

He just got back to consult me. Two heads are better than one. We all know that. So, I listened to the details. He said that before he could claim those, he has to pay a some kind of water purifier for Php 53,000.00. What the!

This is worth Php 53,000.00! Whoa!

So, I made an inquest. Hehe! He mentioned that the guys asked about his credit card details. So, I instinctively asked “Did you leave your credit card?” He said no, (Whew!) but the promo guys got hold of his SM Advantage. (Okay, okay! They can’t do anything with that!) So, I patiently waited for some more details. He said that he told the guys that he will just call his girlfriend who happens to be a law student. (Ako yun!) He added that he felt that something he didn’t know was going on. He actually asked them questions like what's the brand name of those products, the market price and so on. He just wanted a second opinion before he completely turn his back to a seemingly downpour of luck. (Too good to be true!) So that was it! Smelling the deal was fishy, I asked my boyfie to just get his card and leave. When he got back, he was able to get it with no questions asked. (Natakot siguro!)

Before leaving the mall, we decided to check out the place. The shop is called Green Top. So, here are two (2) more pictures.

Green Top Marketing, 2/F Alimall Cubao

Watching TV while working??? This is great!

I promised my boyfie that I will gugelit! I did and this is what I found. BINGO!

Life is lifeylicious when we know how to protect ourselves! Let's save ourselves from unnecessary spending! Being debt-free is lifeylicious!

Back to BK!

Question: What's my favorite fast food? Ah ah um ah ah!
Clue: Check out my first name! hahaha That's a giveaway!

Anyway, perhaps I'll just write about it some other time.

Yesterday, I did book hunting. I relentlessly scanned bookshelves just to find the treasure. I went to National, Rex and Central Books, all in Recto. I also visited National at SM Centerpoint as well as two (2) more National bookstores in Greenhills. I also spent some time at National in Robinson's Galleria. If you think that's the end, definitely not. I bought some books at Rex, Cubao, yet still disappointed because I didn't find two (2) more books that I've been looking for. You can guess how exhausted I was! (Plakda!) Oh! I forgot to mention that the day before yesterday, I visited three (3) other bookstores. (Toinks!)

Anyway, after a day of burying my face in my new Oblicon book and Consti 2 class, my boyfie and I went to SM Manila, again, to ... (Alam mo na!) Alternative Dispute Resolution by Aralar is madulas. Just like a criminal, ang hirap hulihin! But finally, I found the lost sheep. ehehe When I got hold of it, I told myself "eto na 'yon?!"

As you know, I won't ruin my day just for that. So here... After many years, I was reunited with BK! As I, together with my boyfie of course who has not tried it during his entire existence, entered the shop, images of my memories there flashed one by one. I used to stay there after or in between my classes. I enjoyed my bottomless drinks. I took advantage of promos too... Alone. Yeah, alone... But my visit awhile ago was different because I was looking forward to another lifeylicious day.

BK experience is one for the books!

To those who still do not know, BK's patties are grilled! This is why they say BK is better! Not only that, it's yummy compared to others. Below is the proof. ('Evidence' kaya ang gamitin kong term para mas attorney-like. hehe) BK's answer: Have it your way! (Sure! Sure!)

It's burger time!

If you want some, go there! You won't have a hard time ordering because the counter is clear. (Totoo!) Also, though the service crew are not that jolly, they are polite and attentive. You can see that each one is doing his/her job. In other words, walang petiks! ( I dunno if they are lucky enough not to be caught. May ganun!)

See?!

When I looked around, I noticed that most customers were Koreans,if not Chinese. I'm still an amateur when it comes to pointing out who's who. hehe And guess what... they were using their laptops there. It seemed like they were in a coffee shop, only the lighting was too bright. Who cares if there's free wi-fi. You can also plug in your gadgets! So cool! Probably, this is the reason why bottomless drinks are no longer available. (Nagtataka lang po. Pasensya na. This is not a promo anyway. hahaha)

I wonder if all BK stores offer this.

Isn't great to see this in a fast food!
There's another one for all types of phone. JACKPOT!

To wrap this up, I just wanna share that it was a nice experience to back here in BK! Maybe my former classmate, Zenzen, will ask: Is it BK or the person you are with at BK? Wachatink?

NU in Past Tense Or Not?

NU 107 in Ortigas

It’s mid of November. As I post some new entries after I took some photos outside the NU 107 Residence in Ortigas, I wonder if I still need to write an entry about NU which is now in past tense. I guess I owe this to many fans, if not all listeners, of NU. I said this because NU should still be on if all the fans were listening.

My boyfie, himself, is guilty of that. I suppose he is not the only one. When he sent a message to his former bandmate to relay the oh so bad news, the latter was shocked. He said how come they didn’t know! Obviously, they were listening no more when NU needed them. Somehow, they should be blamed but I couldn’t because I know they are lamenting! How do I know? They say they grew up with NU!!!

Candle vigil for NU

I am not really a fan, but I have been keeping a sticker of NU! It’s in my hometown so I couldn’t take a picture of it for this post. It’s like a treasure. Though I am not an avid listener, I couldn’t say nobody in our house tuned in… My brother did and so I was too for quite some time… All I know is NU Rock is/was ASTIG! (Present or past tense? Still in dilemma.)

I heard that NU lived for more than 20 years, 23 if I am not mistaken. That was like… since I became aware of rock music. By the way, The Dawn is my favorite band now and forever!

Up to this moment, I am waiting for a twit stating NU is back!

I double-checked, NONE! So this is it.

I can still recall the melancholic feeling of the silent crowd outside the NU station during the last night of NU. They knew that it was the end they feared, yet they stayed just to express how they were feeling. That, I could not stand so we had to leave early.

Body language speaks

Somehow, I hope that NU will resurrect in different form. It may be soon, and maybe not. Anyway, as long as we keep the spirit of rock alive, NU is just around the corner!

NU 107 Rocks Forever!
