At Home @ House

This is not a food blog. It just so happens that food tasting has become a habit. hahaha! Also, it's good to savor singlelicious life through giving in to our cravings! Hihihi. Well, let's just say that this is the prize received by my boyfie for being the Rocker of the Day of  his company's recently-concluded Christmas party. For someone who's favorite breakfast is pancakes, the best place to be is Jollibee? Mcdo? Kidding! It's Pancake House.

The place was quite crowded when we arrived but that was okay because we found a nice table at the corner. There was nothing which could spoil that moment. Though an old lady's voice was a  one or two scale higher than moderate when she reminded a waitress to make no mistake, ('Twas somethin' like 'siguladong alang mali ah.' in a Chinese accent.) I thought it's okay. The waitress didn't seemed embarrassed and  I've heard about the reputation of Chinese when it comes to business. In short, no hassle! So we ordered. My had  Choco Mint Surprise and Hot Cappuccino while he chose Festive Fruit and Nut for me. I added Green Tea which I am still raving about! I am not a tea lover but I ordered a tea and I will not mind having tea again next time if the tea will be as good as what I had there.
Choco Mint Surprise!
The Surprising part is the jello in between...
I really love this!
(BTW, can you find what's wrong in this pic?)
My visit here this morning is far better than the previous one. I am not sure if it's because of being with boyfie again after not seeing each other for about 34 hours. Anyway, I categorically say that a hearty breakfast with Boyfie is lifeylicious
I guess the serving is too much for me.
I love it though...
Bill:
1     F.Fruit & Nut E            158.00
1     Chco M. Surprise E    158.00
1     Pure Green Tea E         32.00 (Mura lang pala!)
1     Cappuccino Hot E        58.00
Plus:
8% Service Chrge                29.00

Expensive? Lem'me remind you that we don't do this everyday! hahaha! To Boyfie, did you like your prize?

Hello, Pollyanna!

I just found something to be glad about and that is knowing Pollyanna. Actually, I've heard her name several times but it wasn't big deal for me. Pollyanna is just one of those girls in cartoons, I thought. I never expected that this video will make such an inundating effect on me. It just did.

To those who has no idea who Pollyanna is, well she is Little Ms. Enthusiastic or Little Ms. Positivity or Little Ms. Glad Girl. This optimistic girl has become a source of optimism in a seemingly dull village by sharing the game her father taught her, the Glad Game. Because of her presence, the lives of the people changed.

The story started when she arrived in a village where her Aunt Polly lives. Being an orphan, she has cherished the memories she had with her father including the Glad Game. She's so vibrant as opposed to her aunt's stern attitude. The villagers aren't so friendly too, except for Nancy, a servant  and two other male helpers. However, their negativity slowly got thawed by this cheerful and smart girl. The girl melted hearts such as those of Mrs. Snow and Mr. Pendleton which are hard as stones. She was like fire that changed the forms of metals. Her amiable character is so amazing that it transcends age and status. Until one day, she was tested. She was struck down by a car. No child of Pollyanna's age will react calmly when he/she finds out that walking and running will be just a part of memory and dream. When little girl accidentally heard about it, she was devastated. It crushed the heart of her Aunt Polly. Though she has an option of asking help from Dr. Chilton, who happens to be her ex-lover, she kept her pride. To make the story short, I'll say that  this is a 'they-lived-happily-ever-after story,  so with the help of those who have been touched by her, she was able to walk again. The End.
You're such a lovely girl! Thank you! (Click this if you want to watch it too.)
The movie is oh so moving. It made me cry. The movie is great. I wonder if the book is better because I really enjoyed watching this one. Slow internet connection could not dissuade me from finishing it. By the way, the girl in this adaptation is Georgina Terry. This version was broadcast in 2003.

What transpired in the story is my dream for myself and for everyone, i.e. that we may always find the good in every situation - every, all, no exceptions. This may be difficult for those who felt they have been cheated, those who have been betrayed, those who are suffering from cancer, those who are about to lose someone, those who have lost someone, those who have lost one or more of their faculties, those who have been demoted, those who have been fired, those who have been persecuted, those who have been victims of wars and of crimes, those who are hungry, those who have no shelter, those who failed, who has been called a disgrace, those who have no families, those who are asking who their real parents are, those who have to work even during holidays, those who are away from their families, those who are living hand-to-mouth. those who received nothing this season, etc. (You know me when it comes to enumeration... I have to stop at some point. Just like my Christmas wishlist.) But no matter how difficult it may be, it is possible for us to be GLAD.

Life is great. Life is beautiful. Life is lifeylicious...

Short Prayer: Knowing you Jesus is one of the reasons why I am glad. Thank you!

A Feel-Good Movie

I just arrived after watching a feel-good local movie. This marks another milestone this year because I'm not really into watching locals in cinemas. The thing is this year I watched two (2). So far, I'm still undecided if there will be a third.

I am sure that some of you will criticize me for that. Let me add that I'm picky because movie tickets are so expensive compared to rental fee at Video City. A regular movie is Php 160 to 170 vs. Php 16. The difference is way too big. So as much as possible, we watch only the blockbusters. Actually, after Narnia, my boyfie and I are now waiting for another Pirate movie. (or is it just me?)
Next Attraction... Yung movie po. Di ako!
Before I go back to the movie, I will share to you some of the local movies I watched in theaters. (Sa tagalog, pelikulang bumutas ng bulsa) They are Tribu (an indie film), Resiklo (a MMFF film), and A Very Special Love. They are great!

Now, to the main thing, I just saw My Amnesia Girl. I'm neither a John Lloyd fan though I watch Imortal nor a Toni Gonzaga fan but why I did watch the movie. It's because I heard positive reviews about the movie. It's no wonder why it's still in theaters competing with movies like Tron and Narnia.

A Shot While Waiting for 8:20!
I enjoyed the movie. The lines are oh so funny. The actors (Job well done, Joross and Ketsup!) made the movie hilarious but at the same time, heartwarming.  I don't know why but there were scenes that made my eyes clean. (O iyakin lang talaga ako!) Of course, I noticed some flaws but those did not erase the fact that the movie exceeded my expectations. I was there to laugh and feel good about life and my lovelife (Uyyy!), and the movie delivered. Awesome! So just like what I usually do, I list down my favorite/the unforgettable scenes:
  • Irene Teasing Apollo - The scene is oh so funny, but at the same time with kilig factor because it ended up Apollo embracing Irene because the latter had an asthma attack.
  • Irene Smelling/Kissing Apollo Inside the Car - Hahaha! A couple in love is just like that. However, other people seeing what's going on is another thing. Kids, close your eyes. Hahaha!
  • Irene Walking Down the Aisle - Toni is definitely not in my top 10 beautiful female artists (Kahit yata top 20), but she was just so beautiful in that scene. Radiant! Glowing! Now I wonder if all brides are really like that. By the way, I think the wig in the movie is unnecessary.
  • Irene Asking Apollo to Run Errands for Her - Well, I don't think what Irene did was out of revenge. Women are just like that at times. Sorry, guys!
  • First Meeting of Irene and Apollo - The pick-up lines really made my day. Usually, I just raise my eyebrow when I hear one, but the lines in this movie are romantic. Pick-up lines here are either cute or cheesy, but romantic.
  • Friends of Apollo Helping Him Remember the Girls from the Past - It was nice to see Kaye Abad, Angel Locsin and Jodie Sta.Maria there. Jodie's was the funniest!
There are many more. The movie isn't boring, no dull scenes (ika nga). Scenes capturing the essence of friendship added great value to this movie too. Again, I don't want to be over-analytical about the story because I didn't watch it for that! It was magical in a sense that it stirred my emotions. Hihihi! I'm sure it's not an after effect of Tempra and Fern-C I took before watching it.

Oh! I also feel like mentioning that before the movie, Boyfie and I went to Pasta Bucket again. Then, inside the theater, we had Doritos (hundred plus na pala s'ya ngayon), DQ Blizzard (as usual) and water (go wellness!) Though I asked for Toblerone, I haven't eaten what we bought yet. I wonder when... Thinking about this fact makes me wanna type this! Lifeylicious!
Both are mine. Mine!
Sa hihingi, ang sagot ko po ay "ubos na po."
To wrap up, I wanna say "congratulations to Cathy-Garcia Molina, John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga!"

My Christmas Wishlist

It's been like over a week since I made up my overly-distracted mind to make a Christmas wishlist. For a person like me who doesn't really expect gifts and is used to receiving nil, this is something new. This doesn't really put me in a wide-eyed-'coz-amazed mode because this year many new things happened. I am thankful for everything. Oh well, at this moment, I declare 2010 as a revolutionary year of my life.

I'm getting distracted now because I see different faces from where I am now. So I have to get started. Oh, this is exciting because I have not thought about the items in my list. This is not surprising again because excitement is hard to contain when we know we're doing something for the first time. Writing this is not fatal, but why is it I can't breathe. Hahaha! O.A. So what if I am, this is my blog. My oh my! My nerve cells and hormones are delirious. Yay! The other side of me is saying "start now!" I have to give in.

1. The new book of Bob Ong.
I don't even know it's title but it's a purple one. I saw one of classmates reading it last week. I envy him for a minute but I shrugged that feeling aside because I was into my required readings at that time. I had to focus. Now, I think I can entertain the idea of wanting to read it, having it. By the way, if you can't find the new book of Bob Ong, don't bother to buy the previous ones. I have all of those already. Don't tempt me doing gift recycling because I haven't tried that. Just in case, your gift will be the first piece. Hahaha! Another thing, don't suggest that I just read it in the bookstore because just like what I have mentioned, I have the previous books. That means I collect Bob Ong books. I am a Kabobo/Kabibo

2. I-Pad/Galaxy Tab/(Sige na nga!)Superion
Oh! I didn't expect this. Why is it that after typing the above item I feel like I want to select the text and press delete. I love owning one but somehow, I find this impractical because my more than 2-year-old MSI notebook is still working. Yes, most of the time, I find carrying this inconvenient because my back always pays the price. Just in case you don't know, I have scoliosis. I notebook is not that heavy, but the battery and adapter have weight which can't be ignored. Going back to wish no. 2, perhaps I should start working again and buy this from my hard-earned money.
I feel like I want to defend why I want to have this. Can you imagine how convenient it will be if the copy of the codal provisions and cases are stored in it? That is just one. I can do more I think if I'll have one.

3. A Backpack
Because of my back problem, I really have to own one if I still want to walk straight (literally!). If you think this one is just easy to find, then consider this. I am a law student who carries thick books. If I'm in 3rd year or 4th year already, I don't need to be a regular kargador. As of now, I need a backpack which can accommodate not only my books and notebook but also my tumbler and my kikay kit. By the way, here's another thing worthy of consideration:. I always wear coat, slacks and high-heeled shoes. In other words, I should always look formal. I know it's unfashionable to have a huge backpack, but I have no choice. My posture is deteriorating so I have to do something about it.

4. Planner
My friends have been flashing theirs and here I am, the one used to have two, has zero. I am not sure if I can complete the Starbucks Christmas Tradition. Wanting to have one, I bought something which can be a good substitute. Though this one from Papemelrotti is motivating and helpful at the same time, I would still love to have a planner.
Only Php 39.00.
Only 5 stickers and more to go... Aw!
This planner is nice
5. Brown Slacks
I don't have one yet. This is a must for someone who lives a life of mix-and-match everyday.

6. A Camera that is better than my Samsung 5mp from Charlie.
My point-shoot camera has been of great help and I am thankful for having it, but I think my blog/diary will be more interesting if I can come up with better pictures.

7. Money for my Allowance
I spend but I don't earn. Can you imagine what it is like for an out-of-job person to eat, drink, commute, photocopy and more everyday? This can be like hell. I understand if others will consider it as that. This is a fact, but I don't consider this as a source of depression or misfortune. I believe that blessings will come my way soon! Woooott!

8. Earrings
I am not into expensive earrings. I can live a life without jewelry. However, as you already know, I need to accessorize. My outfit will be boring without them. After checking my collection, I noticed that I need simple ones.

9. Batteries for My Watches
I have a gold watch which I inherit from my eldest sister and a silver one from my mother. Both of them aren't working. I keep track of time using my phone. Knowing that I have something which can be useful but are just kept troubles me. They are from persons I love so I have to use them.

10. Study Table
One problem I have is that I can't study in my room because I don't I have a study table. My bed has always been competing with my studies. I have to make a room for studying in my place if I really want to be productive.

Here's more:
11. Nice notebook.
12. A Parker Pen. I don't have one yet. I like it orange. If there is none, any will do.
13. A Visit to Ocean Park. I haven't been there.
14. Clear Book with Fillers
15. Dual-Sim Phone

Hmmm! It's time to stop. This is what we should all learn, knowing when to stop. Hahaha!

Have you made your own list already? C'mon, try it. It's lifeylicious

Just in case you won't receive any, remember that's a sign that you have to buy the stuff listed using your own money.

To those who will bother to send me gifts, thank you! Any will do. It's the thought that counts.

To the one who gave me one yesterday, thank you. That's my first. I love it! I'll wear it soon.

Time with a Friend

I was a bit annoyed a while back. In order to take off the negativity in my system, I have to release it by writing or typing, whichever you prefer. (Still not in a good mood.)

I met one of my close friends earlier. Oh, by the way, she is not the reason why mood turned sour. Or should I say, she's not the reason why I chose to feel bad. If this statement is confusing to you, you will understand it in time. (Warning: Not at the end of this post.)

To continue, can you guess how I feel considering the following:

  • Last time we met, the place was in Glorietta. Today, we met in the same place.
  • Last time, we ate at World of Chicken and we did again there.
  • Last time, we hung out at Starbucks and we went there again.
  • This one distracted me so, click!
  • Last time, we just talked and talked and so we did the same thing.
There seems to be nothing special, but whether you believe it or not, it was a fantastic day for me. Actually, if only Azkals' game is not scheduled today, we could have waited until the closing hour. Before you speculate, I want to make things clear. The last time I was in Makati was the time I was with the same person. That was months ago. Also, I love World of Chicken. It was nice to be back there. As for Starbucks, I always find it a homey place to stay and talk with someone. I even study there. But actually, those are just pluses. The fact that I spent time with a friend I love to be with is the lifeylicious experience in itself. Six hours of catching up are not enough for us. Well, a whole day will perhaps have the same effect for friends who yearn to be with the people they like to be with. A great feeling always comes our way when we just have to be ourselves and enjoy the company of our friends.

Just in case my friend you'll be reading this, your best friend is right. Move on. Yesterday, as you shared your analyses of how things went between you and the other person, I was nodding in agreement. Really the books we have read tells magical things and helpful tips. However, as we know, we can just cherish the past. We can change how we look at it but we cannot change what happened. We should live in the NOW. Anyway, you've been a good girl. Surely, Papa J will bless you.
Witnesses...
To you dear reader, when was the last time you spent quality time with people who matter most in your life? Think about it. Isn't it the time that you are your happiest? Now, do I still need to say where and how you can find happiness?

Wow! Now, I am in a good mood. It's time to sleep.

Short Prayer: Lord, thank you for all blessings... my friends, my family, my boyfie and all other blessings. Thank you too for the opportunity to give smile to others. Unfortunately, some are unresponsive. Perhaps they are tired or busy thinking about their problems. Please don't give up on us at times that we seem to forget you. Love you, po!

Had It Shuffled

I can't concentrate on what I've been reading and I suppose that it's a better idea not to force myself.

I just wanna stay in my comfort zone and the place to be is just here... I am glad that I don't have to dress up to go here. Yes, the homebody in me strikes again. Others call it introverted. I wonder if that has positive or negative connotation. Never mind. And if I don't mind it doesn't matter.

I've been sharing stuff about friends, food, place, movies and other simple joys, but music.  So why not today... After putting my phone player on shuffle, I listed the following songs. I want to share them to you. So here...

1. Shakespeare In Love by Lay la Kaylif - I really love how this song makes me feel. And yes, it is an OST... Oopps! Just got back. I listened to it again. Oh! This is just oh so romantic. Hayyy!

He's fought and he's fallen
He's on his knees before he's on his feet
A glittery romantic
Oh, he's about to be and she's about to see

His bounty's boundless like the sea
His love is endless, just as deep
The more he gives the more he has
`Cause both of them are truly infinite

CHORUS:
She'll take him to the brink of deliverance
Show him that much
Oh, don't you know it
Oh, don't you know it
So he falls in love to feel that he's falling
She'll let him know his heart
Oh, don't you know it
Oh, don't you know it
That's Shakespeare in love

2. Grow Old With You by Adam Sandler

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
Oh all I wanna do is grow old with you
I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you
I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

Funny, but so sweet, right? Do you remember the reaction of Drew when she heard the song? Oh! This just reminds me of my boyfie. He may not be the perfect guy (Nobody is, anyway!), but he is perfect enough for me. If I tell him the title, it will mean engagement. Wahhh! Next please...

3. Low by Flo Rida - C'mon not that one! hahaha. Nobody can look at me the same way after he/she sees me dancing to the beat of this one. This song makes me wanna watch Step Up movies again. Unfortunately, I don't have time for movie marathon this Christmas season. This fact though is not so motivating, so next!

4. That's the Way It Is by Celine Dion - This is an old song already. Despite that fact, I never get tired of listening to this one. For me, this is oh so inspiring.

When you want it the most there's no easy way out
When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt
Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is

5. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) by Beyonce Knowles - hahaha! Nope. I'm not gonna dance with this one. hahaha. This reminds me of GMA male artists dancing. hahaha

6. No Air (Piano Acoustic) - I enjoy this as much as I enjoy the original by Jordin. The song is soulful, but I don't like to promote the lyrics of the song. Why? Gugelit. Now, I am promoting the song. hahaha (An exmple of irony)

7. I'm Yours by Jason Mraz - This used to be everyone's favorite. Who will not love this song?

I won’t hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I’m sure
No need to complicate
Our time is short
It can not wait, I’m yours

8. Love on the Internet by Rex Hermogino. Oh! I think this will be my last in this list. I want you to remember this one. I am sure you will love this. This song won in a Yahoo contest. I thought I lost a copy of this one when I accidentally deleted my music files. It's good that I was able to save this in my Esnips account. Anyway, I can't find the lyrics so just check out the video using the link here.
Watch him!

The Point

What is the point of what I have been posting here for over a month already?

Well, first this blog is a diary. This is intended to keep track of my journey. Basically, this is for me. I want to see how I’ve been thinking, acting and learning.

Second, for those who will bother to read or just look at the pictures, I want to show how beautiful our journey can be by enjoying the things in front of us. To dream big and become big is great. To become the best we can possibly be is amazing. Focusing on our life’s purpose is worthwhile. I actually believe in all of these. I, myself, is spending great deal of time, money and effort to become I want to be. However, the end is not all that matters.

Each of my posts is a daily dose of finding the balance between enjoying the journey and achieving our goals. I hope that this will be a constant reminder of the importance of keeping our sanity when the going gets tough.

As you may notice, my life, no matter how lifeylicious my daily experiences are, is far from perfect. Just like others I have many wants. Yes, they are far more numerous than my needs, but I try not to magnify the things that are lacking. I avoid a sad or tragic ending of complaining. I have troubles too. Believe me, they are overwhelming if I will start counting. I can use my creativity to enumerate as many as you can, but I will not waste my precious time. I am smart enough to know that doing so is unhealthy. F.Y.I., I am preventing the acceleration of my aging process in a natural way. Problems or challenges are just around. They are here to make us better persons. However, talking about problems, especially when we have no control of them, is futile, a waste of energy. To save ourselves from devastation/depression, we must remember that we cannot control others, but the good thing is we can control ourselves. Thanks be to God!

It’s morning now… I have to go. As I always say, happiness is a choice. By the way, how about trying the following mantra: Life is beautiful. Life is sweet. Life is what we make out of it.

Being able to express myself is lifeylicious
Our life can be just like this... Can you see the heart?

Makaganti man lang ba!

Mabigat! Di kaya pinggan ang laman nito...
Sumasayaw ang Santa na 'to... Pasikat!
12K naman... ang mahal!
Siguradong gusto ng Mommy ko 'to. Di n'ya dapat makita. Mahal!
Tama na yung maliit lang.

A Secret Date

At long last, after many weeks of ardent anticipation, my boyfie and I finally had a chance to visit Secret Recipe. It was October when I first saw the place. It's at 2/F Atrium, Megamall. I was lucky to have a free taste of a cake when I passed by that part of the mall. I also got coupons. Guess what? I kept them...
Such a tempting sight!

In November, I already conditioned the mind of my boyfie that we'll going to enjoy Secret Recipe's cake in December. Because the place looks quite pricey, I set our monthsary as the day of our visit. That's December 12. As you may notice, something sweet has become my boyfie's present for me on our monthsaries.

Anyway, Boyfie had a busy day,  so he fetched me late. It was already 8:00 p.m. Since I was starving already, we headed straight to the promise land. hehehe... We entered the restaurant as a couple. (Ibig sabihin magka-holding hands. Kiliggers!) After choosing the best table, we took our time choosing dishes that would make us remember the moment. Hmmm.. Boyfie ordered a bestseller - Grilled Black Pepper Chicken, and Frosty Lemon Tea. I chose pasta - spaghetti bolognese (beef) and Chocolate Indulgence as dessert. Since I presented the coupons and declared I have no idea which ones could be used, the polite and accommodating waiter promptly helped us. We got 50% off from Boyfie's main entree and a free Iced Lemon Tea. Yahoo!

The Grilled Black Pepper Chicken with fresh vegetable salad as side dish deserves a thumbs-up. It's palatable in every bite. No wonder it's a bestseller! Boyfie also enjoyed the taste of his drink. The sour with a right amount of sweet sets a balance in his meal.

I enjoyed mine too. The pasta serving is big which means it can also be for share, but I finished it with just enough appetite for the much awaited finale, Chocolate Indulgence. Its taste is familiar but unlike other cakes, its sweetness is just right. The texture is the one of the bests, if not the best, I've tasted so far. There was no dizzy aftereffect after each bite. I really enjoyed it to the max! (Babalik ako!)
Wait! Picture muna!

This another unforgettable dinner cost us Php 505.00 only! (Salamat sa coupons!)

Being there, eating there and having dinner with Boyfie are truly lifeylicious. By the way, one of the slogans of Secret Recipe is "life is sweet" and I agree. (Bow!)
A slice costs Php 90 to 95.
This place made us feel more special by allowing us to sign its guest book.

Thanks, Secret Recipe!

Greenhills in December

December 11, 2010 (12/11/10, ang galing no?!) is another lifeylicious day.

As scheduled, my friend/roommate, Amie and, of course, my boyfie went to Greenhills. Of course, you know why, but I will still write the reason here. hahaha! You can't stop me. It's Christmas season. During the holiday season, Greenhills' Christmas attractions never cease to amuse and bring joy to both young and old. Yes, I am talking about the same Christmas presentation and tiangge.
Jesus in Bethlehem

Our mission was to watch the Christmas presentation and have food trip. We weren't disappointed.

The theme of the presentation is Christmas in Wonderland which is brought to us by Greenhills Shopping Center and Globe. (Ilang ulit kami nanuod kaya natandaan ko!) It's all about Santa. The good thing is that Jesus in Bethlehem is the finale. If they didn't make the finale that way, I would feel bad. I just can't get over the line I've read recently. I am talking about "Santa stole Christmas from Jesus."

Anyway, the story started with a scene showing a family, a couple and kids singing Christmas Songs as they wait for Christmas. Then, the Rudolph scene. Of course, his nose is still red. How Christmas gifts are made was shown too. Then, seeing Santa and his sleigh made me smile. But the scene where Santa slid several times as he climbed the chimney top made me laugh. So you can guess my reaction when, after hearing a loud noise when Santa fell, Santa said "my back hurts!" It was really hilarious! The laughter from the audience, especially kids, made the whole experience more meaningful. As expected, even if Santa got hurt, he was able to deliver the gifts to the kids all over the world. Finally, the birth of Jesus was shown to mark the end of the presentation.

Look at the little boy. He's so happy!
Just like you, I know the story but I still love watching it. This is a kind of stuff that I haven't outgrown. Also, singing  along with the background music brings a lifeylicious feeling.

two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree...
Rudolph the red nose reindeer, had a very shiny nose...
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining...

Of course, the night won't be complete without the food galore.

First, we had shawarma and pineapple juice at Babba Shawarma.
Ang beef ng shawarma. Bow!
After watching a repeat, we had grilled sausage and jumbo hotdog.
Ang talap-talap!

After looking around the tiangge stalls,
Pacquiao shirts... Pili na!

Pili na... Pwedeng isukat!
(May nabili naman po kami, sila pala.) we opted to buy something sweet and cold, i.e., iskrambol (Old Street Iskrambol) We wanted more, but we're full already. It was already past ten when we decided to go home.

During this season, commuting is so difficult not only because the traffic is terrible everywhere, but also because getting a taxi takes forever.
Markbell po ang pangalan ng taxi...
Nagpapadagdag ng bayad sa pasahero!
To make the story short, we ended up riding the motorcycle of boyfie. Yes! Three persons in one motorcycle. On our way home, I actually waited for the tires to burst, fortunately they didn't. Woohooo!

A Celebrity's Chicken

My sister, Malou a.k.a. Trisha (Bawal magtanong kung bakit Trisha k'ze di ko rin alam!) is asking for a new blog entry so I need to post one as soon as I can. Though I still have several pages to read for my 8 a.m. class tomorrow, I have to do this.

Looking for a shop where my boyfie can get costumes for his group, my boyfie and I ended up taking the route  of New Manila. Since we had no specific destination and it was already dinner time, my boyfie suggested to visit Joel Torre's Inasal. Why not! I've seen this business being featured in magazine and on TV so I was kind'a expecting something, something that I can't describe right now... (hahaha)

When my boyfie said "this is the place", my reaction was like... Really?! Okay! Then, I chose the best table among the vacant ones. As I made myself at home, I started appreciating the place. Hmmm... "I see, I see this is really his," I told myself.

Then I asked my boyfie to do the honor of choosing our dish(es) of the night. Of course, he still consulted me and so we had Pa-a and Dinuguan. (Ayos ba?) Do you wanna try ordering? Here...

What's your order, Ma'am/Sir?
While waiting, I observed and realized that customers are from middle class and above. The place was like home. The lighting is somewhat dim. There are frames and posters on the walls. Waiters aren't smiling, but neither angry nor arrogant. (Baka pagod na!

Joel Torre's Movies...
The main piece is an interesting and funny painting. Here...
Such an Attention-Grabber!
Then we ate... The Chicken Pa-a is juicy, juicier than others. The aroma of JT's chicken was so irresistible. As for the Dinuguan, it is okay, but my mom's is 10x better. The rice is of good quality; hence, we ordered an extra.

A quick pic before we ate...
After the main event, (Parang boxing lang, 'no?) I observed that others were busy enjoying the food. Hmmm... It seemed that they were not first timers unlike us.
My boyfie paid Php 225.00. Not bad for a lifeylicious dinner!
Do you wanna try JT's Manukan Grille? This might be of help.

If you're far from New Manila, try these other branches!
